BRIEF 1:faber and faber

The brief is to design a range of faber and faber book covers for their film series. The design is for their Print on demand service. They recently launched faber finds anothe print on demand service that makes out of print books available. The design uses patterns from marian bantjes combined with some clever generative programming from universal everything to make every cover unique. It also uses a typeface design from MCP at build.

Considering the abilities of generative. I think that i should design a system much like in faber finds that can be used alongside generative programming for further books.

Faber has a long history being established in the early 1920's. Faber and faber in the 1920's took on the task of constructing a unique british idea of mordern.

Taking this as a design direction my concept would be

Contemporary classic.

Im going to design a typographic system influenced by classical book cover design, but updated with a contemporary feel.
